Session Description:
Today’s nursing/midwifery leaders require a toolkit which includes self-care strategies to manage the vast array of requirements for the role including resilience. This session will introduce members to the concept of mindful leadership and the value of a regular meditation practice to pause, be present before you proceed in your workday.

Carolyn (Carrie) Bourke is a Registered Nurse and Midwife with over 40 years' experience in the healthcare sector and is currently the Acting Nursing Director Education and Research at Darling Downs Health, Queensland. She has worked in both rural and regional health settings from RN, CN, NUM, relieving Rural DON and now education. Carrie is passionate about developing a workforce that can translate theory into practice and apply in the real world to maintain patient safety and support a healing environment.
